چکیده
Considering the environmental challenges humanity faces in 21st century, it is obvious that there an enormous need for change of global energy map. Under these circumstances, new sources and intermediates must be considered as options to limit greenhouse gases emissions mitigate climate crisis. Biohydrogen production one most appealing options, due hydrogen's multiple applications zero a fuel, empower future hydrogen circular economy. In this review article we focus on two methods are not widely used at industrial scale but have many possibilities growth margins: (a) photo-fermentation (b) bio photolysis. Both light dependent photobioreactors function produce significant amounts biohydrogen. Based extensive literature search systemic analysis findings, presentation different reactants, operating conditions biohydrogen productions, key factors effecting parameters were discussed. Temperature, pH, intensity photobioreactor operation design some define rates yields. Innovative solutions approaches presented including biotechnological genetic engineering modifications microorganisms, well combinations hybrid producing methods, especially dark photo fermentation. For implementing circular-economy, wastes explored potential feedstocks, overcoming major bottlenecks biophotolysis face transition sustainable economy,

Sustainable and efficient biohydrogen production via electrohydrogenesis.
Hydrogen gas has tremendous potential as an environmentally acceptable energy carrier for vehicles, but most hydrogen is generated from nonrenewable fossil fuels such as natural gas. Here, we show that efficient and sustainable hydrogen production is possible from any type of biodegradable organic matter by electrohydrogenesis. In this process, protons and electrons released by exoelectrogenic ...
متن کاملFood waste and food processing waste for biohydrogen production: a review.
Food waste and food processing wastes which are abundant in nature and rich in carbon content can be attractive renewable substrates for sustainable biohydrogen production due to wide economic prospects in industries. Many studies utilizing common food wastes such as dining hall or restaurant waste and wastes generated from food processing industries have shown good percentages of hydrogen in g...
متن کاملElectro-extractive fermentation for efficient biohydrogen production.
Electrodialysis, an electrochemical membrane technique, was found to prolong and enhance the production of biohydrogen and purified organic acids via the anaerobic fermentation of glucose by Escherichia coli. Through the design of a model electrodialysis medium using cationic buffer, pH was precisely controlled electrokinetically, i.e. by the regulated extraction of acidic products with coulomb...
متن کاملOutlook of biohydrogen production from lignocellulosic feedstock using dark fermentation – a review
Hydrogen becomes a promising alternative energy carrier to fossil fuels since it is clean, renewable, contains high energy content and does not contribute to greenhouse effect. Therefore, using cheap or renewable resources, such as lignocellulosic materials, as the feedstock for hydrogen production, in particular, dark fermentative hydrogen production has a great potential to give major contrib...
متن کاملA comprehensive and quantitative review of dark fermentative biohydrogen production
Biohydrogen production (BHP) can be achieved by direct or indirect biophotolysis, photo-fermentation and dark fermentation, whereof only the latter does not require the input of light energy. Our motivation to compile this review was to quantify and comprehensively report strains and process performance of dark fermentative BHP. This review summarizes the work done on pure and defined co-cultur...
